My Research Interests
One in two Canadians will be diagnosed with cancer in their lifetime. This devastating disease is responsible for the deaths of over 80 000 people every year making it the leading cause of death in Canada highlighting the drastic medical need for novel therapeutics.
Numerous reports have highlighted the role of cancer stem cells in tumor recurrence, chemo/radiotherapy resistance and metastasis.
Investigation of cancer stem cells have highlighted the importance of understanding cancer stem cells biology in order to develop novel, selective anticancer therapies.
