Microplastics and Human Health

The Microplastics and Human Health project aims to shed light on the potential impact of micro- and nanoplastics (MNPs) on human health. This multidisciplinary study brings together researchers with diverse backgrounds to investigate the adverse effects of MNPs on the brain and uncover the critical cellular and molecular mechanisms activated by MNPs exposure. This project will begin to reveal the public health risk posed by a diverse array of MNPs and help understanding the long-term health consequences of MNPs exposures. The information and insight we gather will inform nationally and internationally integrated strategies for the control and mitigation of MNPs pollution with respect to their impact on health.
